Tim Locastro Diagnosed With Torn ACL
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro underwent an MRI on Saturday, which revealed a torn right ACL. He exited Saturday's game early after banging his knee on the outfield wall while trying to catch a foul ball in the second inning. The 29-year-old will miss the rest of the season. Locastro slashed .180/.263/.252 with two home runs, seven RBI, 15 runs scored, and five stolen bases across 64 games for the Diamondbacks/Yankees. There's a decent chance he won't be ready by Spring Training of 2022. Fantasy managers can drop Locastro in all league formats. Tyler Wade would see an uptick in playing time until Aaron Judge is reinstated from the COVID-19 list.

Tim Locastro Activated, Playing On Saturday
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Tim Locastro (thumb) has been activated from the 60-day injured list on Saturday. The 31-year-old speedster has been sidelined since mid-May due to a thumb injury. Before going down, Locastro went hitless in seven plate appearances with four stolen bases. He'll bat ninth and play center field versus right-hander Spencer Strider on Saturday. There won't be much fantasy value from Locastro outside of his speed.

Tim Locastro May Need Surgery
2 years agoAccording to Mets skipper Buck Showalter, outfielder Tim Locastro (thumb) may need surgery. The 30-year-old hasn't done anything all season, going hitless in seven at-bats (11 games). Unfortunately, while working his way back from back spasms at Triple-A Syracuse, he suffered a UCL sprain in his right thumb and found his way to the 60-day injured list on Friday. That said, Locastro hasn't offered anything to fantasy managers in 2023, so the latest update on his health won't mean a thing.

Tim Locastro Signs With Mets
2 years agoThe New York Mets signed free-agent outfielder Tim Locastro to a minor-league deal on Monday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, according to sources. Locastro will stay in the Big Apple after playing in 38 games for the New York Yankees in 2022. In those 38 games, he hit .186/.239/.349 with a .588 OPS, two home runs, four RBI, 13 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 46 plate appearances. The 30-year-old speedster will give the Mets some outfield depth, but he's not much to look at from an offensive standpoint and won't have any fantasy appeal entering the 2023 season. In six major-league seasons, Locastro has a .227/.325/.331 slash line with seven long balls, 35 RBI, 87 runs scored and 39 stolen bases.

Tim Locastro Homers, Swipes Two Bags
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro took advantage of a rare start Sunday, going 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. He now has two homers and six steals in just 17 games and 22 plate appearances this season. The 30-year-old speedster has split his time between Triple-A and the majors this season, but he may have earned himself some more playing time with this performance and other outfield options struggling. He'd offer a major boost for fantasy players in the steals category with regular at-bats.
