Gregory Polanco Activated And Starting Saturday
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (hip) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets, according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. In a corresponding move, the Pirates have optioned infielder Rodolfo Castro to Double-A Altoona. Polanco has struggled at the plate this year, especially over his last 28 games where he is slashing .160/.247/.321 with four homers, four steals, nine RBI and eight runs scored. The bigger part of this transaction is the optioning of Castro, who had shown some promise over seven games where he was slashing .214/.313/.857 with three home runs, four RBI and four runs scored. Polanco's return likely cuts into the playing time of Wilmer Difo and Jared Oliva, but neither one of them were fantasy relevant to begin with.
