Luis Robert Taking Light Batting Practice In Arizona
3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert (hip) is taking light batting practice and doing some fielding at the team's Arizona complex, according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun Times. This is another step in the right direction for Robert, who has been out since the beginning of May with a Grade 3 right hip flexor strain. Van Schouwen reports that barring any setbacks, Robert is just a couple weeks away from starting a minor league rehab assignment. Prior to the injury, Robert was looking good to start off his sophomore season, slashing .316/.359/.463 with one homer, four steals, eight RBI and 11 runs scored over 25 games. Managers should continue to monitor updates on Robert, but it seems like he could be back by the middle of August.
