Yes, Kurt Busch has been on a run culminating in a win at Atlanta last week but this week may be a different story. He does start fourth in the Chip Ganassi Racing car but has an average finish outside the top 14 at New Hampshire in the last three races. The elder Busch has five top-eight results in his last six races. This has him in the chase as of right now (14th in points). The No. 1 has five more races to hold on to a spot in the playoffs. He should be able to finish well enough but a top ten result may be a bit of a question mark on Sunday.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Kurt Busch will be looking for his second win of the season when he starts in third place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. It could be possible for Busch to get his second win. He has had three wins at New Hampshire in his career, so it's safe to say this is one of his better tracks. However, his last win at New Hampshire came in 2008, so it's been 14 years since his previous win. Busch locked himself into the playoffs after he won at Kansas. His one win, five top-fives and seven top-10 finishes this year are enough to put Busch in 12th in the points standings. Busch should be worth a look at the magic mile.--Maison Maerz

Kurt Busch and his 23XI Racing car handled great during the March race at Atlanta. He finished third after starting in ninth. For those wondering about last year, the elder Busch led 144 laps during the summer race. That was on his way to a dominant win where he finished second in stage one and won stage number two. Other than a DNF last March, Busch has finished in the top-ten at Atlanta seven times in his previous eight races. The fact that he starts 21st will help with place differential at a bare minimum. Even contending is quite likely. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Kurt Busch has had one wild ride this season, but one thing has been consistent over the last couple of the months: his inconsistency. The elder Busch has not finished in the top 15 twice in a row since late March. Part of that issue has been course construction, but part of that has also just been a lack of, well, everything. Understandably, some external forces have played a role. However, the No. 45 car was pretty good at Sonoma but wound up in 18th place. Now, his third car at Gateway could bode well along with the win at Kansas. Sunday may be a better day, even though the elder Busch starts 19th.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Kurt Busch beat out his younger brother Kyle in qualifying for Sunday's race at Sonoma. That is the good news. The bad news is that the elder Busch just missed out on the final qualifying round. He will begin Sunday from the inside of Row Six. Busch started 30th last year and wound up sixth. The 23XI Racing driver shows a unique composure on road courses and could gradually gain track position as the race goes on. One would not be surprised if the No. 45 driver ends up close to a top-five result. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
