Phillip Evans Returns From Injured List
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates activated infielder/outfielder Phillip Evans from the seven-day concussion list on Friday and optioned infielder Cole Tucker to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Evans was out since July 5 after suffering a concussion in a game against the Atlanta Braves. The 28-year-old was seeing regular playing time at first base before his injury with both Colin Moran and Erik Gonzalez on the injured list, but he isn't a lock to see regular at-bats upon his return as long as John Nogowski continues to swing a hot bat. Evans wouldn't be anything more than bench depth in NL-only leagues, though, with his .208/.310/.311 slash line and five homers and 15 RBI in 183 at-bats in 2021.
