Isaiah Ford Returns To The Dolphins
3 years agoThe Miami Dolphins signed wide receiver Isaiah Ford to an undisclosed deal on Friday and waived safety Brian Cole and center Tyler Gauthier in corresponding moves. Ford was traded to the New England Patriots at last year's trade deadline, but he didn't play a single snap for them and was ultimately released. The 25-year-old former seventh-round pick in 2017 has spent his entire three-year career with Miami, catching 51 passes for 520 yards, including a start in Week 17 of last season. However, he'll just be competing for a roster spot in training camp in a crowded receiver room after Miami added Will Fuller and rookie first-rounder Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins pass-catching depth chart also includes the likes of Albert Wilson, DeVante Parker, Preston Williams, Lynn Bowden Jr., Malcolm Perry, Jakeem Grant, Robert Foster and Allen Hurns, who is returning after opting out in 2020 due to COVID-19. Ford is most likely ticketed for the practice squad or could even be outright released if he doesn't make the final roster.
