Jordy Mercer Activated And Starting On Friday
3 years agoWashington Nationals infielder Jordy Mercer (quad) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and is starting at third base and batting sixth against the Padres on Friday. Mercer had been out for the past two weeks with a right quad strain, and now he will start at third base while Starlin Castro is out on administrative leave. It seems a good bet that Mercer will be the team's primary third baseman going forward while Castro is investigated over domestic violence allegations, but Mercer likely won't provide much fantasy value as he is only slashing .270/.299/.365 with one home run, one RBI and eight runs scored over 32 games this season.
