Adalberto Mondesi Making Progress; Still No Return Date
3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) is continuing to progress through his rehab and has begun swinging a bat, but there is still no timetable for his return, according to Lynn Worthy of the Kansas City Star. It's been a lost season for Mondesi, who has appeared in only 10 games this season due to oblique and hamstring injuries. When he's healthy, he's been able to produce results at the plate as he is slashing .361/.378/.833 with four homers, one stolen base, nine RBI and six runs scored. As long as Mondesi remains out, Nicky Lopez will continue to be the primary shortstop in Kansas City. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Lopez is not an option in the majority of formats as he is hitting .265 with a .676 OPS over 81 games this year.
