Lance McCullers Jr. To Lead Astros Out Of Break
3 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. will get the nod to open up the second half of the season, as he will start Friday night against the White Sox. McCullers has been putting up one of the best seasons of his career so far, going 6-2 with a 2.94 ERA, 1.230 WHIP and 26.4 percent strikeout rate over 79 2/3 innings of work. He'll face off against Chicago for the second time this season, and will look for a repeat performance after limiting the White Sox to two runs over six innings with four strikeouts his last time out. This should be a nice matchup for McCullers, but managers should be starting him every time out regardless of the matchup.
