Jordan Lyles To Start Friday Against Blue Jays
3 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jordan Lyles will take the mound to open the second half of the season on Friday when he faces off against the Blue Jays. Lyles had a rough start to the year, but has looked much better over his last seven appearances where he has gone 3-1 with a 3.57 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 40 1/3 innings of work. He's also recorded a quality start in each of his last four trips to the mound to close out the first half. While he's looked good lately, Toronto may prove to be a less than ideal fantasy matchup for Lyles, as the Blue Jays are hitting slightly better against right-handers (.267/.328/.454) than against lefties (.255/.325/.435) and they're also hitting better at home (.277/.343/.484) than on the road (.252/.313/.419). Managers may want to look elsewhere for a streaming option.
