Xavien Howard Generating Trade Chatter
3 years agoThere has been a lot of trade chatter concerning Miami Dolphins All-Pro cornerback Xavien Howard, who led the NFL with 10 interceptions in 2020. Howard is unhappy with his contract after signing a five-year, $75.25 million extension two years ago and wants a new and improved deal after his excellent season last year. However, he's not likely to get what he wants from the Dolphins, and it would likely take at least a first-round pick to acquire him. Despite the high price, there are several win-now teams considering such a move. Howard, who skipped the offseason program, could hold out of training camp if no teams step up to trade for him. Miami's secondary would obviously be much better with Howard in it, but that's not a guarantee now as we approach the 2021 regular season.
