3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. struggled too often lately. On Sunday, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver showed that maybe he just has to drive. He went from lurking around the top 10 to a third-place result on Sunday. This was essential. He did accumulate three points between the first two stages. Though the No. 19 driver did not lead a lap on Sunday, Truex and his car looked like the car most are seeing in Atlanta. Even on the longer runs, he was able to gain time on the Busch's at times. In the end, he finished a bit over two seconds behind, but the result was very encouraging.
