Carlos Correa Won't Play In All-Star Game
3 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa won't play in next week's All-Star game because he prefers to rest for the second half of the season and the postseason. Correa is having arguably the best season of his career, so it'll be disappointing not to see him play in the Midsummer Classic, but fantasy managers won't mind too much. He's gotten off to a bit of a slow start in July (4-for-18) with a homer and three RBI, but overall he's produced a .291/.390/.517 slash line, a .906 OPS, 16 home runs, 61 runs scored and 52 RBI in 354 plate appearances. Correa no longer runs -- he hasn't attempted a stolen base since 2019 -- but he's still plenty valuable as a high-end fantasy shortstop heading into the second half of 2021.
