Alec Mills Snags Fourth Victory
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills recorded his fourth victory of the season on Wednesday versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Mills went 5 2/3 innings and allowed five hits, three runs, one walk and struck out five. Mills started the season out of the bullpen and was expected to lose his spot in the rotation when starting pitcher Trevor Williams was activated on Tuesday, but manager David Ross elected to stick with Mills for now. With starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (hamstring) placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday, Mills should continue to remain in the starting rotation. Mills is now 4-2 with a 4.84 ERA and is best served as a streamer for now.
