Trevor Larnach Supplies Offense In Wednesday's Loss
Trevor Larnach went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox. Larnach provided the offense for the Twins on a quiet day at the plate for the team, belting a solo homer in the fourth inning. The lefty slugger's blast was a towering one, traveling 430 feet at 108.7 MPH, with an expected batting average of .940. Larnach has been a strong producer in the middle of the order for the Twins since being called up in May, slashing .262/.361/.445 with seven homers, 19 RBI, and 23 runs scored. He'll get a four-game series against the Detroit Tigers before the All-Star break. The Tigers own the eighth-worst team ERA in the majors this season, giving Larnach some under-the-radar value in DFS formats.

Trevor Larnach Launches Another Long Ball
Trevor Larnach continued his recent surge with another home run on Wednesday against the White Sox. Minnesota has been desperately searching for offense, and Larnach has delivered over the last few games. The 28-year-old lefty has hit safely in each of his last five games, going 6-for-17 (.353) with three home runs and a .545 wOBA over that short span. He has six hard-hit balls in those five games, per Statcast, giving him a 40.0% hard-hit rate over that stretch. On the season, Larnach is still hitting only .218 with a .303 wOBA and 99 wRC+; however, this recent surge should earn him some more playing time and keep him anchored as a key contributor in the Twins' batting order against right-handed pitchers. He can be a short-term pickup or DFS streaming option while he's so hot, although he hasn't been able to sustain this kind of production in the past.

Trevor Larnach Hits The Bench Against Lefty
Trevor Larnach will start on the bench for Thursday's series opener on the road against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field with a left-handed starter on the bump. Manuel Margot will start in left field and will bat leadoff for the Twins against Rangers left-hander Cody Bradford. This should come as no surprise to fantasy managers in deeper leagues that have Larnach rostered, as he's only been afforded 16 plate appearances all year against southpaws, with just two hits and six strikeouts against them. Margot is in an appealing lineup spot and has hit .275 (33-for-120) against left-handers on the year, but he only has four home runs and four stolen bases in 2024 and is still a low-upside DFS sleeper against the defending World Series champions.

Trevor Larnach, Matt Wallner Sitting Against Lefty
Trevor Larnach and Matt Wallner are taking a seat on the bench in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the visiting division-rival Cleveland Guardians with left-hander Joey Cantillo on the mound. Manuel Margot is making the start in left field and will bat leadoff, while Royce Lewis shifts to designated hitter and is batting third against Cantillo. Jose Miranda is at third base and is hitting cleanup for the Twins. Margot has some sleeper appeal in the leadoff spot for DFS purposes, but he still has a pretty low fantasy ceiling and is batting .266 (30-for-113) with three of his home runs in 58 games against left-handed pitchers this year. Expect to see Larnach and Wallner back in action for Game 2 of the twin bill versus Guardians right-hander Alex Cobb.

Trevor Larnach Out Against Lefty
Trevor Larnach will rest on Monday against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies with left-hander Ranger Suarez on the mound. In addition to Larnach, Matt Wallner and Edouard Julien will hit the bench. Jair Camargo is serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh, Manuel Margot is in left field and hitting leadoff, and rookie Brooks Lee is manning the keystone and batting sixth against Suarez for the series opener. The lefty-hitting Larnach has faced left-handers only eight times this year, so it shouldn't be a surprise that he's not starting on Monday. Against righties, he's hit .247 (48-for-194) with all 10 of his home runs and all but one of his RBI on the year. Margot has hit .289 (26-for-90) against southpaws in 2024 and is more attractive as a DFS sleeper in the leadoff spot, but he's added just three homers and four steals on the season.
