Mike Trout Taking Swings On Monday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (calf) is taking swings off a pitching machine before the game on Monday. However, Trout is still wearing a compression sleeve over his right calf and doesn't look to be taking full-intensity swings just yet. It's the first time the superstar has hit on the field since suffering a Grade 2 right calf strain in the middle of May, so this is great news for the Angels and his fantasy managers. However, the 29-year-old is still likely at least a few weeks from being able to return from the injured list. Trout was slashing .333/.466/.624 with eight home runs, 23 runs scored and 18 RBI in 117 at-bats before the injury. Juan Lagares, a defense-first player, has been holding down center field duties in Anaheim with Trout sidelined.
