WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (7/4/21): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings and FanDuel

Happy July 4th!

Celebrate the weekend by shooting off some fireworks and watching some WNBA games. Two of them are on the schedule for Sunday, as the Dream host the Aces and the Storm host the Sparks.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/4/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Lineup Picks

I felt like throwing it back to the old way of doing my WNBA articles today, where I mention six players I'm interested in playing and talk about just those three. I'm...not sure why I decided to switch things back up these last few days or if I'll switch back to the other format.

Anyway, here are some picks.

Guard: Erica Wheeler (Los Angeles Sparks) - vs Storm - DK: $9,100, FD: $6,500

It's been really great to watch Erica Wheeler this season as she's become the Sparks best guard.

She's scored 20 or more fantasy points in seven consecutive games and has taken double-digit shot attempts in all of those appearances. Her actual field goal percentage has been up and down over that stretch, but you can't hate the usage. The fact that she had a couple of strong showings against the Aces makes me feel good about her upside on Sunday as well.

Guard: Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces) - vs Dream - DK: $7,900, FD: $6,400

Honestly, my opinion on Aces guards right now is play the cheapest on each site. On DraftKings, that's Young. On FanDuel, it's Kelsey Plum. I'm going to be talking about Young here because I mostly play on DraftKings and this is my column.

Young is coming off a game where she took 10 shots, but only connected on three of those. Still, she grabbed five rebounds, and she usually adds enough steals and assists to have a strong showing. If she can find her efficiency on Sunday -- and she probably will against this Dream backcourt -- then Young should have a strong showing.

Guard: Katie Lou Samuelson (Seattle Storm) - @ Sparks - DK: $5,900, FD: $4,100

The Sparks have had some games where they've allowed a ton of points, so I like the idea of loading up on Storm players in this one.

Samuelson is coming off consecutive games with 20 DraftKings points. She's played at least 20 minutes in four straight games and while she isn't taking a ton of shots, she has taken seven three-pointers over the past two games. She's a really interesting value play on this slate in what should be the higher-scoring game of the day.

Forward: Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm) - @ Sparks - DK: $11,800, FD: $9,500

Stewie had her worst game in awhile on Friday, scoring nine points and adding six rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Even with her lowest-scoring game of the season, she just missed out on scoring 30 fantasy points.

Even on a bad night, Stewart is a good fantasy option. And since bad nights for Stewart are incredibly rare, Stewart has to be considered the top play on this slate. She's the WNBA's best player, someone capable of putting up 25 and 10 on a nightly basis. This is her first matchup this year with a Sparks team that rates in the middle of the league defensively. I'll go ahead and bet on Stewart's season-long dominance over betting on her being in some kind of slump after one poor showing.

Forward: Amanda Zahui B. (Los Angeles Sparks) - vs Storm - DK: $9,600, FD: $6,400

As I mentioned Friday, Zahui is a force when she stays out of foul trouble. She actually committed five fouls against the Aces, which usually would have doomed her to a poor showing, but she ended up still putting up 14 points and 12 rebounds, plus a block and two three-pointers.

With the Ogwumikes out, Zahui B. is the best big on this team by far, which is going to be something that keeps her on the floor for extended minutes. She's now at four games in a row playing at least 30 minutes, and in three of those four games she finished with at least 30 fantasy points.

The early foul concerns are always there. But her ability to stretch out to three and record double-doubles -- which, to be fair, she hadn't done since June 5th -- makes her a strong play with a high floor and a high ceiling.

Forward: Ezi Magbegor (Seattle Storm) - @ Sparks - DK: $5,300, FD: $3,500

The Storm released Candice Dupree this week, paving the way for some more minutes in the frontcourt for Magbegor.

The 21-year-old Australian hasn't gotten the kind of minutes that most expected she'd get this year. A favorite of WNBA Twitter, Magbegor was a popular breakout candidate, but she hasn't broken out.

But maybe this is her chance. Dupree had been playing 16.3 minutes per game through 16 games, though her final game in Seattle saw her down to just 6 and a half minutes.

But hey, that game also saw Magbegor have a solid game. She didn't score in 10 minutes, but she did grab five rebounds and add an assist and a steal. I'd expect to see those Dupree minutes go to Magbegor. If she plays around 20 minutes per game going forward, she'll be a really nice DFS value.
