Zac Gallen Dealing With Hamstring Injury
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen (hamstring) left his start early on Friday against the San Francisco Giants with right hamstring tightness. Manager Torey Lovullo said that Gallen will undergo an MRI exam on Saturday, so we should know more on the severity of the injury soon. The right-hander wasn't sharp before the injury, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in two-plus innings to raise his season ERA to 4.17 and WHIP to 1.39 in nine starts over 41 innings. Gallen has also missed time this year with a forearm fracture and a UCL sprain, so hopefully he won't need another trip to the injured list. The injuries have prevented him from being as good as he was in 2020, when he had a 2.75 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 82/25 K/BB in 12 starts over 72 innings of work.
