Heath Hembree Picks Up Second Save
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Heath Hembree threw a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday. Hembree struck out two and allowed one hit to pick up his second save of the season. The veteran reliever is trending up after a rough start to the season, having allowed three earned runs over his past seven appearances. Overall, Hembree has a 2-3 record, 5.26 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings of work. With both Lucas Sims and Tejay Antone on the injured list, Hembree should be in line for more high-leverage innings for the Reds in the future.
