Martin Truex Jr May Break Out Of Funk at Road America
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. led 19 laps on Sunday at Pocono and though he finished 11th, there was hope for the No. 19 for the first time since Sonoma. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver had not led a lap since Austin. Truex Jr had almost finished 18th or worse in five of the previous six races. Even a top ten finish would have been nice but was just not quite meant to be. Again, Martin Truex Jr ranks second in driver average with two wins in the last three years on road tracks and an average finish of 7.9. If he gets the downforce and speeds off the turns, the No. 19 will contend on Sunday.
