Alex Bregman Won't Be Back For A Month
3 years agoHouston Astros manager Dusty Baker said that he doesn't expect third baseman Alex Bregman (quadriceps) back for at least a month. This comes after Bregman said he was ahead of schedule and optimistic about his progress on Monday, although there was still no firm timetable for his return. He's been out since June 16 with a strained left quadriceps, but Bregman ran on flat ground on Monday and has also been running on a treadmill. The 27-year-old is no stranger to soft-tissue issues in his legs, so the Astros are likely playing it safe. Fantasy managers will have to continue to be patient, as it looks like he may not return until late July now. Abraham Toro and Robel Garcia have been sharing time at the hot corner with Bregman sidelined. Bregman is hitting .275/.359/.428 with seven home runs, 37 runs scored and 34 RBI in 229 at-bats this year and needs to remain stashed in all formats.
