Billy Hamilton Back, Jake Lamb Goes On Injured List
3 years agoThe Chicago White Sox activated outfielder Billy Hamilton (oblique) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and placed corner infielder/outfielder Jake Lamb (quadriceps) on the injured list with a strained right quadriceps. In corresponding moves, outfielder Luis Gonzalez was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte and first baseman/outfielder Gavin Sheets was called up from Charlotte. Hamilton returns after suffering a right oblique strain in early June, and he's expected to hit exclusively from the right side upon his return, making even more unattractive as a speed-only option in deeper leagues. He's hitting just .217 with two homers, 10 RBI and five steals in 69 games. Lamb was hitting only .224 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 85 at-bats and isn't worth holding in deep mixed leagues. Sheets could be attractive in AL-only formats if he sees enough playing time after slashing .292/.352/.472 with seven homers in 41 Triple-A games.
