Kole Calhoun Beginning A Rehab Assignment
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun (hamstring) is joining Triple-A Reno on Monday to begin his minor league rehab assignment. Calhoun underwent surgery on his left hamstring in April and is getting closer to rejoining the Snakes. Because of the long layoff, the veteran outfielder could have an extended stay on his rehab assignment. The 33-year-old was hitting well before his injury, slashing .292/.333/.479 with two home runs and five RBI in 51 plate appearances over 13 games. The D-backs could really use him back, especially with Ketel Marte (hamstring) going back on the injured list on Monday. Calhoun has a .249 career average in 10 major league seasons, so don't expect him to continue to hold a high average for the second half of the season.
