Jeff McNeil Struggling Since Return From Injured List
3 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil went 0-for-4 in the Mets 4-2 loss to the Phillies on Sunday. He is now slashing just .176/.231/.167 with no homers and just one RBI over 24 at-bats since his return from the injured list on June 21. Inclusive of the time he spent on the IL due to a hamstring strain, it has been a rough season so far for McNeil. He is slashing just .228/.317/.333 with three home runs and nine RBI over 123 at-bats for the season. Given his past performance, McNeil should provide fantasy managers with solid batting average and on-base-percentage to go with a good number of runs and RBI once he gets his bat going in the second half of the season. That said, fantasy managers may wish to fade McNeil in shallower formats until he shows some consistent signs of life at the plate.
