Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Hits Major-League Leading 26th Homer
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays corner infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his major league-leading 26th home run of the season in Saturday's 12-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. The 22-year-old superstar has now homered in three straight games and four of his last seven as part of a seven-game hitting streak. His 26th long ball marked the second-most through 75 games in team history. Guerrero has 50 career home runs and is the second-fastest in franchise history to reach that mark in 258 games. His Hall of Famer father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr. also had 50 home runs in his 258th career game. Guerrero's breakout season in 2021 has coincided with better plate discipline, and he's just not missing pitches inside the zone when he swings at them.
