P.J. Higgins Will Undergo Tommy John Surgery
P.J. Higgins (forearm) will undergo Tommy John surgery in several weeks, per insider Gordon Wittenmyer. The backup catcher has been out since June 11 with a right forearm strain. Jose Lobaton has been filling in as Willson Contreras' backup since Higgins was stashed on the IL earlier this month. Higgins put up a .163 OPS in 23 at-bats with the Cubs this season.
