Keston Hiura Batting Eighth Friday
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers infielder Keston Hiura is in the starting lineup Friday, batting eighth and playing first base against the Colorado Rockies and right-hander Jon Gray, who is fresh off the injured list. As expected, Hiura has replaced first basemen Dan Vogelbach (hamstring) in the lineup and is looking to take a step forward during his third stint with the big club. The former top prospect struggled mightily during his first two stretches with the Brewers, posting a slash line of .130/.217/.222 with 48 strikeouts and eight walks in 122 plate appearances. While Hiura is best served on waivers in shallow leagues, he deserves close monitoring, as he is only two seasons removed from a stellar rookie campaign of .303/.368/.570 with 19 home runs and 49 RBI over 84 games. And with Vogelbach out for up to six weeks, Hiura will have his opportunities.
