Brooks Koepka Is Worth The Gamble
3 years agoThere seems to be a prevailing narrative that Brooks Koepka only cares about majors. While that may be true, even an apathetic Koepka is still one of the best players in the world. He possesses a win and a runner-up finish in two of his last six non-major starts. Regardless of motivation, the four-time major winner sets up extremely well at TPC River Highlands, ranking 20th in proximity from 125-150 yards, 10th in opportunities gained and sixth in birdies or better gained over his last 36 rounds. He hit the ball incredibly well last week at the U.S. Open, gaining 3.7 strokes off the tee and 4.2 strokes on approach on his way to a fourth-place finish. Koepka always comes with missed-cut potential, but his upside still makes him an intriguing play at a reasonable price tag.
