3 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against Jake Odorizzi and the Houston Astros. DJ Stewart is getting the start in right field while Ryan Mountcastle is serving as designated hitter. Santander has struggled at the plate in June. Over 17 games this month, he's slashing .206/.250/.317 with one home run, five RBI and seven runs. Santander's xSLG this year (.396) is way down from last year (.413), but he's also maintained a career-high 41.8% hard-hit rate this year, up from 37.6%. Overall, he's underperforming his expected stats for the most part this year, highlighted by his .272 xBA compared to his .239 batting average.
