Washington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin posted his second straight outing with seven strikeouts on Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over six innings in a 5-2 win over the Mets. Sunday's start improved Corbin to 5-5 on the year, as he now owns a 5.40 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 76 2/3 innings of work. That was largely due to a poor start to the year, but he's looked better in June as he's now 2-1 with a 3.65 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 24 2/3 innings across his last four starts. He looks to be a potential streaming option going forward, and he'll have a nice matchup in his next start against the Marlins.--Michael

The Texas Rangers have optioned left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin to Triple-A Round Rock. The Rangers signed Corbin to a one-year contract earlier in March. However, the team will opt for Corbin to begin his 2025 campaign in the minor leagues. This transaction will likely allow Corbin to increase his workload before returning to the big leagues. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should monitor his progression in Triple-A as he will likely make a few starts before being in contention to return to the majors. Last season, the southpaw logged 174 2/3 innings with Washington and held a high 5.62 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP. He tallied just 139 punchouts and held a modest 7.1 percent walk rate. If Corbin were to progress well at Triple-A, he could eventually serve as a depth option in the rotation if Jack Leiter or Kumar Rocker were to struggle.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

The Texas Rangers have signed starting pitcher Patrick Corbin to a one-year deal on Tuesday. The veteran southpaw was brought in with Jon Gray (wrist) and Cody Bradford (elbow) likely both beginning the season on the injured list. The plan is for Corbin to join the organization in Arizona for the final few days of camp. At this point, Corbin isn't much more than an innings-eater pitcher, which is something the Rangers could use right now. The left-hander posted a 5.62 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 139/54 K/BB ratio across 32 starts with the Washington Nationals last season. Corbin hasn't been a viable fantasy option in years and that's unlikely to change in Arlington.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin took advantage of a favorable matchup in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Marlins. Corbin pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. The 35-year-old veteran has put together a modest three-game win streak in which he has allowed three total runs in 17 2/3 IP with 22 strikeouts. However, he still owns a poor 5-12 record on the season with a 5.41 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and a 7.12 K/9 rate in 28 starts and 153 IP. His next start will be another favorable one at the Pirates, but fantasy managers may want to avoid starting him given his low floor.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin improved to 4-12 on Tuesday, pitching a gem against a tough Yankees lineup in a 4-2 win. Corbin pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and two walks with six strikeouts. The 35-year-old veteran has strung together two consecutive quality starts, but his overall season numbers are still poor with a 5.50 ERA, a 6.90 K/9 rate, and a 2.93 BB/9 rate in 27 starts and 147 1/3 IP. His next start will be a much more favorable matchup at the Marlins. Even so, fantasy managers may not want to trust Corbin so close to fantasy playoffs.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
