Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We only have five pitchers who are over 90% rostered and another six that are above 50%. That leaves us much more than usual in the waiver pool. With a doubleheader today, we have 21 pitching options to sort through. Which of these can help us out?

Hitter Streamers for 6/19 - Shallow Leagues

Jonathan Villar (2B/SS/3B, SHB, NYM) - 38.6% Rostered

Matchup: at WAS RHP Joe Ross

Ross has been good of late, but so has Villar. He is hitting .294 with a homer, three runs, and two steals over the last week. The lack of RBI is a bit concerning, but Villar can't control what his teammates are and aren't doing. The fact is that Villar can possibly help in both power and speed. That's exactly what we are looking for in a streamer. The fact that he gets two games today puts him at the top of the list.

Joey Votto (1B, LHB, CIN) - 38.1% Rostered

Matchup: at SD RHP Dinelson Lamet

Remember him? Votto is partying (and hitting) like it's 2010. He is hitting .296 with three homers, seven runs scored, and 11 RBI in the last week alone! Injuries and age have taken their toll on Votto since 2017, but it seems like he has a few stretches like this still where he's feeling good and it translates to success at the plate. If you streamed Votto last night, you were rewarded with another run and a stolen base? Really? Yep. His first of the year. Maybe we really did go back in time....

Ty France (1B/2B, RHB, SEA) - 34.6% Rostered

Matchup: vs. TB LHP Josh Fleming

If you follow this article and streamed France last night, you were rewarded with three hits and two runs scored. It might happen again. France has 12 hits in 27 at bats over his current seven-game hitting streak with two homers, six RBI, and seven runs scored. Don't jump off now! He's facing a lefty tonight!

J.P. Crawford (SS, LHB, SEA) - 22.9% Rostered

Matchup: vs. TB LHP Josh Fleming

Crawford is 11-26 over his current six-game hitting streak with a homer, three RBI, and four runs scored. He is hitting atop the Seattle lineup and he absolutely destroys lefties. Crawford is hitting .345 against lefties on the season. The .409 BABIP against lefties is a little high and he is worse against lefties overall in his career, but considering his hot streak, I'll say he at least gets one hit for us tonight.

Hitter Streamers for 6/19 - Deeper Leagues

Zach McKinstry (2B/OF, LHB, LAD) - 16.8% Rostered

Matchup: at ARI RHP Matt Peacock

There are worse things for your fantasy team than a guy batting in the bottom third of a potent order. This is waivers people, not draft day. McKinstry is hitting .350 with five RBI in the last week, but has only scored one run. Peacock  gets into trouble early and often, which means McKinstry will likely have people on base when he comes up. Peacock has walked a staggering ten batters in his last three starts. Those of you in leagues that count OBP should be all over McKinstry today.

Bobby Bradley (1B, LHB, CLE) - 15.5% Rostered

Matchup: at PIT RHP Wil Crowe

I get it. You're salty because Bradley has to occupy your UTIL slot in ESPN leagues since he's only DH-eligible. Some players are worth getting over it for. Bradley is hitting .333 with four homers, 11 RBI, and nine runs scored in just 36 at-bats. Bradley drew the collar last night, but he still scored a run. I'll take my chances with this raw power against Pittsburgh's staff.

Brandon Belt (1B, LHB, SF) - 11.8% Rostered

Matchup: at PHI RHP Aaron Nola

Belt is getting hot again. He is hitting .321 with two homers, five RBI, and six runs scored in the last week. Both of those homers have come in teh last three games. Yeah, Nola might scare some of you off, but not me. Belt is 5-8 lifetime against Nola. He's getting something tonight. At the very least, he should help out our average a bit.

Guillermo Heredia (OF, RHB, ATL) - 2.9% Rostered

Matchup: vs. STL RHP Adam Wainwright

I suppose I should lead with Wainwright's 8.20 road ERA. Yeah, the splits are a little more egregious this year, but Wainwright's career road ERA is more than a run higher than his home mark. On top of that, he got bludgeoned in his only career start at SunTrust Park. Meanwhile, Heredia has quietly put together a five-game hit streak in which he is 8-16 with a homer, three RBI, and six runs scored. I want as many pieces of this Braves lineup as I can get tonight. Especially free ones!

Pitcher Streamer for 6/19 - Shallow Leagues

Logan Gilbert (RHP, SEA) - 30.2% rostered

Matchup: vs. Tampa Bay

Here's hoping that your leaguemates just look at the sum total and move on. Yes, Gilbert took his lumps early, but he has given up two earned runs or fewer in four straight starts now while racking up 22 strikeouts in 21.2 innings pitched. Walks are still a bit of an issue for Gilbert, but he is not giving up many hits, so his WHIP isn't suffering. Despite his early struggles, it still sits at a sparkling 1.13 on the season. Gilbert should help your ratios tonight at the very least and is likely to grab you a handful of strikeouts as well.

Vladimir Gutierrez (RHP, CIN) - 28.8% rostered

Matchup: at San Diego

Gutierrez has a strong 2.74 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through his first four major league starts. It's not a fluke either. His expected ERA is 2.98, which lines up well with his actual ERA. He has only allowed 4.6% barrels and a superb 29.2% hard contact. That's likely not sustainable in the long run, but he gets a nice park upgrade here as well heading to San Diego. Gutierrez has outstanding metrics through his first four starts. Yeah, the .206 BABIP is going to go up and the 81.9% strand rate is a touch high as well, but he keeps the ball in the park and doesn't allow hard contact. He'll help your ratios at the very least here.

Pitcher Streamers for 6/19 - Deeper Leagues

Joe Ross (RHP, WAS) - 19.1% rostered

Matchup: vs. Mets

The Mets got owned by Kyle Hendricks on Thursday, who throws roughly 85 mph. It's going to be quite a culture shock starting down Ross, who throws consistently around 94 mph. We've seen this from Ross before. He does just enough to make us believe, then get blasted in his next outing. However, Ross hasn't given up a run in 14 June innings while striking out 13 and issuing just two walks. The strikeouts are up and walks are down, which has been the knock on Ross all along. There's a lot of potential for those of you in deep leagues.
