Shohei Ohtani Takes The Mound Thursday Against Tigers
Shohei Ohtani will take the mound Thursday against the Tigers in Anaheim. Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a home run on Wednesday and has home runs in each of his last two games. Now he will take his MVP campaign to the mound, where he also has dominated. Ohtani earned the no-decision in his last start on June 11, allowing two runs through five innings with eight strikeouts. Ohtani is only 2-1 through nine starts but has held opposing hitters to a .172 average and will carry a 2.85 ERA into the start. Ohtani's two-way performance this season is one for the books and is a dynamite option at pitcher for Thursday in DFS leagues. He will then be an excellent source for power at the plate this weekend and is slashing .271/.350/.619 with 15 doubles and 19 home runs this season.

Shohei Ohtani Walks Three Times Monday Against Miami
Shohei Ohtani singled, stole a base, and came around to score in the first inning against the Marlins on Monday, but he didn't get much to hit for the rest of the game. He walked three times and struck out in his other at-bat to finish 1-for-2 with three walks, a run scored, and his seventh stolen base of the season. Ohtani is hitting .290 on the season with six home runs, a .243 ISO, a .399 wOBA, and 27 runs scored, which is just one behind the MLB lead held by Brice Turang. Ohtani is doing a great job as the Dodgers' leadoff hitter, even if his power numbers are slightly down, since he constantly is getting on base and creating scoring chances.

Shohei Ohtani Expected To Be Activated On Sunday
Shohei Ohtani is expected to be activated off the paternity leave list ahead of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. Ohtani has missed the last two games while being away from the team due to the birth of his child. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Saturday that he expects Ohtani back in the lineup for the series finale. Eddie Rosario has been serving as the designated hitter, but is likely going to be optioned back to Triple-A on Sunday. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on Sunday to confirm Ohtani is good to go.

Shohei Ohtani Out Of Friday's Lineup For Birth Of First Child
Shohei Ohtani is out of the Dodgers' lineup for Friday night's game against the Texas Rangers. Ohtani and his wife are expecting their first child. Fantasy managers should expect that Ohtani may be out for a few days, though manager Dave Roberts did say that it's possible Ohtani returns to the team by Sunday. The Dodgers have yet to release an official lineup for Friday night but expect Enrique Hernandez to get more at-bats in Ohtani's absence. Hernandez has hit for a .564 OPS to start the season, making him tough to trust in any fantasy format. Fantasy managers looking to fill Ohtani's void this weekend should be able to find other options on the waiver wire.
