Jorge Polanco Collects Seventh Multi-Hit Game Of June
3 years agoMinnesota Twins second baseman/shortstop Jorge Polanco went 3-for-5 with a trio of runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Seattle Mariners. Polanco's hit parade started in the first inning when he doubled and came around to score on a Josh Donaldson (calf) RBI single. He later singled and scored on an Alex Kirilloff groundout, then collected another two-bagger, crossing home plate on a Nelson Cruz homer. Polanco has quietly excelled when batting leadoff for the Twins, slashing .316/.355/.649 with five homers, four doubles, 10 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 13 starts. He has slotted into that spot in four of the last five games, so perhaps manager Rocco Baldelli is settling on Polanco as a mainstay there, which would be great news for his fantasy value.
