4 years agoLee Westwood will enter this week still on the quest for his first major victory. He finished 3rd at the US Open at Torrey Pines in 2008 but has just two other starts at this venue. Westwood had back-to-back runner-up finishes earlier this season but has missed three cuts in seven starts since then. His inconsistent approach shots and poor scrambling does not set up well for success at the US Open. Westwood is certainly capable of competing, but he carries a lot of risk this week. --Connor Wege

3 years agoLee Westwood has been rather quiet on the PGA Tour to start the 2021-2022 season, and we have only seen him appear twice. Westwood's performance last week at the Honda Classic was rather pedestrian, but he gained strokes in all major statistical categories other than around the green. In contrast, Westwood's short game was spectacular at last year's Arnold Palmer Invitational and he combined that with a great approach week to finish as the runner-up. It will be hard for Westwood to replicate that performance, as he hasn't had much success at this course other than last year. You never know what you are going to get from Westwood, so you should consider him a risky play this week.--Owen Vrabel - RotoBaller
