Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Yandy Diaz went 1-for-3 with a home run, one walk, two RBI and two runs scored in an 8-7 loss to the White Sox on Wednesday. He's been on a tear over his last 15 games, slashing .280/.439/.400 with two homers, nine RBI and nine runs scored, while posting an 11:15 K:BB ratio. He's now slashing .259/.395/.321 over 62 games, and remains a great option to roster in OBP formats.--Michael

The Tampa Bay Rays placed infielder Yandy Diaz on the restricted list on Tuesday and recalled infielder Coco Montes from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin. With Diaz out on Tuesday against the division-rival Blue Jays in Toronto, second baseman Brandon Lowe is serving as the designated hitter and Jose Caballero is playing second base. It's unclear why the 33-year-old Diaz is on the restricted list or how long he'll remain there, which is certainly concerning for his fantasy managers. Check back soon, as we should have an update on why he was put on the restricted list. Diaz has gone just 7-for-38 (.184) with three homers and seven RBI in 10 games in the month of May to drop his season slash line to .238/.291/.400 with a below-average .691 OPS on the year. UPDATE: A delay in having his passport being renewed is the reason why Diaz was unable to make the trip to Toronto.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Diaz (hip) is serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff for the Rays on Wednesday against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. Diaz will return to action after leaving Tuesday's win over the Phillies early with tightness in his right hip. Curtis Mead is starting at first base and batting fifth. The 33-year-old Diaz hasn't been nearly as good in the leadoff spot against left-handers so far this year, going 5-for-32 with two of his five home runs and only three RBI. In six career at-bats against Sanchez, Diaz has hit .333 with a .666 OPS in six at-bats. The Cuban slugger has had a modest season heading into Wednesday's action with a .257/.312/.421 slash line, .733 OPS, five home runs, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored and two steals. He's been hot the last two weeks, though, going 16-for-46 (.348) with two of his five homers on the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Diaz (leg) left Tuesday's game in the sixth inning due to an apparent leg injury. He seemed to tweak something swinging at a pitch in the sixth inning, and left the game while gesturing toward his right leg. More details regarding the specifics of the injury should be available after the game. Diaz was enjoying a nice night at the plate, launching a two-run home run in the fourth inning that was his fifth of the season. UPDATE: Manager Kevin Cash said the team thinks Diaz is OK and will play on Wednesday. Diaz was pulled early because his right hip tightened up on him.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBaller

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Diaz played an integral part in helping the Rays win the series' rubber match on Thursday evening against the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 7-4 in extra innings. He went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Diaz is heating up at the plate over the last two games with back-to-back games of three hits in each contest, boosting his slash line to .248/.286/.400 after a slow start to the season. Diaz is a career .287 hitter, so fantasy managers should be expecting progression on the horizon. In addition, he is not striking out or whiffing often and has an xBA of .285, so fantasy managers should expect the results to follow. The Rays continue their NL East road trip with a three-game series against the San Diego Padres on Friday. Diaz will look to stay hot at the plate and help the Rays finish the week strong.--Nicho Roessler - RotoBaller
