Luis Severino Diagnosed With Grade 2 Groin Strain
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (groin) has been diagnosed with a low Grade 2 groin strain, per manager Aaron Boone. Severino was forced to exit his second rehab start on Saturday after landing awkwardly during his delivery, an injury that Boone termed as a "freak" occurrence. The 27-year-old righty will now be forced to miss about another month due to this setback, pushing his return date back to around late July, early August. Fantasy managers who stashed him may have to consider dropping him, especially if they need the injured list spot, given that he'll really only be pitching for two months this season.
