Michael Pineda Exits With Forearm Tightness Again, May Miss Some Time
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda (forearm) was forced to leave Sunday's start with forearm tightness. Pineda pitched four innings, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and one strikeout. The veteran righty exited after just 64 pitches for the same reason that his June 1 start was cut short. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that the forearm issue is "most likely" going to lead to a break for Pineda, noting that he's not sure how long of an absence he'll require. Any length of time without Pineda would be a tough pill for the Twins to swallow, as he's been one of their better starters, pitching to a 3.70 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 51 strikeouts in 56 innings pitched.
