Bailey Ober Fans Seven In No-Decision
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober authored the best outing of his young career in a no-decision against the Houston Astros on Friday. Ober pitched five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while walking one batter. He struck out seven while recording a strong 36 percent CSW on the back of 20 called strikes. Ober allowed a fair amount of traffic on the basepaths, though he was impressively able to limit the damage against one of the better lineups in baseball. The young hurler was lifted from the game after just 73 pitches, though he noted after the game that he expects that after not pitching any innings last year due to the canceled minor league season. Ober will make another start in the rotation, per manager Rocco Baldelli. With a four-pitch mix and some serious strikeout upside, it's easy to see Ober sticking around in the Minnesota rotation for some time.
