Hunter Greene Continues to Pile Up Ks At Double-A
4 years agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Hunter Greene didn't have his best control on Friday but he still dominated his opponents. The hard-throwing right-hander walked four batters but allowed just two hits — a single and a double — during six innings of work. Greene also whiffed nine batters and now has 60 strikeouts in just 41 innings of work. His ERA sits at 1.98 through seven starts at the level. The second overall pick from the 2017 draft has looked excellent this season despite missing more than two years due to injuries and the pandemic. Greene looks ready for a promotion to Triple-A and could even see the majors in the second half of the year.
