DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/12/21): MLB DFS Lineups

corbin burnes fantasy baseball rankings MLB news sleepers DFS lineup picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/12/21. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

The MLB slate is split again on DraftKings, but that's not to say it's even. We have 11 games starting right in the middle of the day. That one is the main slate, so that's why my piece will focus on today. As per usual, this is subject to change every Saturday. It is what it is. MLB is who we thought they were.

Fortunately, the weather looks good for today. The highest chance of rain in is Miami, and they can just close the roof. Detroit and Cincinnati could see a stray shower, but it wont be enough to do more than cause a short delay. All bats are safe and it looks like the pitchers should be too. The wind wont aid anything today, but it's going to be very hot in Cincinnati and Phoenix. Those look like the best places for hitters, though all are solid today.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/12/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Corbin Burnes - MIL vs. PIT ($10,500)

Well, there's no real need to get cute here. Burnes has a 1.97 ERA and microscopic 0.71 WHIP on the season and he's facing the Pirates. Yes, the Pirates offense is showing a few signs of life, but this is still a below average offense. Burnes has 94 strikeouts in just 59.1 innings pitched on the season, including a career-high 13 against Arizona in his last start. In fact, Burnes hasn't had less than seven strikeouts in a game this year. That's a hell of a lot of free points and a fantastic floor to start your lineups with.

James Kaprielian - OAK vs. KC ($8,500)

The first five starts of Kaprielian's career have gone pretty well. He holds a 3.08 ERA and has struck out 28 in 26.1 innings. Hell, he even turned in a good start at Coors Field, allowing two runs in five innings. He has done a good job of limiting homers and has induced a lot more ground balls lately. The only real gripe about Kaprielian is his generosity with free passes. He has walked 12 batters in five starts. That needs to come down. Now the good news: the Royals are hitting just .226 on the road and only walk 9% of the time against right-handed pitching. Things are looking good for Kaprielian tonight.

Other Options: Rich Hill ($9,400), Yusei Kikuchi ($7,800), Caleb Smith ($6,700)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Christian Vazquez - C, BOS vs. TOR($3,800)

All I can say is that I hope Vazquez is in the lineup today. He is 4-5 with two homers, three RBI, and three runs scored in his career against Steven Matz. This whole Red Sox lineup could erupt on Matz. They are hitting right now anyway. Put a struggling lefty on the hill in Fenway, and the sky is the limit for the Boston offense. Fortunately for us, Vazquez is a fairly cheap piece with the best history against Matz.

Matt Olson - 1B, OAK vs. KC ($5,400)

Jackson Kowar didn't even last an inning in his major league debut last week, getting chased after recording just two outs. While this outing promises to be longer, will it be any better? Maybe not with Olson around Olson is hitting a scorching .382 over the last ten games with two homers and ten RBI. He has also walked more times than he has struck out in the last month while posting a .299 average in that span. We should get something out of Olson tonight against Kowar and that bullpen.

Jonathan Schoop - 1B/2B, DET vs. CWS ($4,800)

At this point, I would keep anything resembling a baseball away from Schoop. He is hitting .408 with seven homers, 14 RBI, and nine runs in the last two weeks. He already has three homers against White Sox pitching in just six games in 2021. It doesn't stop there. Schoop is 5-13(.385) with two solo homers and three runs scored in his career against Dylan Cease. Don't expect Schoop's heater to cease today.

Kyle Seager - 3B, SEA at CLE ($3,800)

If you want to use Seager this year, use him in the road. He is hitting a disgusting .150 in 31 home games and a solid .262 on the road in 32 games. Eight of his 12 homers and 26 of his 38 RBI have also come away from the not-so-hitting-friendly confines of T-Mobile Park. Meanwhile. Triston McKenzie has an awful 8.27 ERA in three home starts and gave up five runs to the Mariners in just 4.1 innings in Seattle about a month ago. Seager had a double in that game. Considering how much better he has been on the road, this looks like a nice spot for Seager.

J.P. Crawford - SS, SEA at CLE ($3,800)

A few things are different from when Seattle roughed up McKenzie on May 15. Crawford was batting at the bottom of the order. Now he's at the very top. He has responded with a .375 average, a homer, six RBI, and seven runs in the last ten games. He has even drastically cut the strikeouts. Much like Seager, Crawford got in on the hit parade against McKenzie out in Seattle. I want to see what he can do from the top of the order and he's cheap enough to comfortably find out without compromising the lineup somewhere.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Ronald Acuna Jr. - OF, ATL at MIA ($6,200)

Yeah. Marlins Park isn't a hitter's park. Acuna must have missed that memo. He is hitting .338 with seven homers and 16 RBI there in 19 career games. Acuna has also destroyed the Marlins so far this year. In the four-game set against the Fish back in April, Acuna averaged 23 DraftKings points per game. He picked up nine hits and four walks in 20 trips to the dish, slugging three homers and driving in six. Acuna continued his abuse of the Marlins with another RBI last night. This team just doesn't get him out very often.

Hunter Renfroe - OF, BOS vs. TOR ($4,000)

Renfroe has slowed down from his torrid stretch at the end of May, but that doesn't mean that this isn't still a good spot for him. Renfroe is still hitting .356 in the last fortnight and is hitting a robust .327 against lefties this year. After a strong start, Matz has had a rough go of it lately. He has allowed 14 runs (12 earned) over his last four starts. That's including the gem against the Yankees at the end of May. One of those starts was against Boston. He gave up five runs in six innings in that one.

Odubel Herrera - OF, PHI vs. NYY ($3,300)

Herrera is very familiar with Jameson Taillon from his time across Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh. Herrera owned that matchup, going 6-10 with a homer and three RBI against him. That ownership shouldn't change with Taillon now in pinstripes and Herrera now batting leadoff. This is a great spot for Odubel today.
