Detroit Tigers first base prospect Spencer Torkelson went 3-for-3 with two walks on Thursday at High-A. The first overall selection of the 2020 draft had two singles and his eighth double of the year. Torkelson had a tough start to the season but he's now up to a 157 wRC+ through 28 games. The slugger has yet to tap into his plus raw power with just four homers but he's keeping his strikeouts at a reasonable level (21%) and he has an impressive walk rate at (19%). A healthy 22% line-drive rate also suggests more pop will come. Torkelson is ranked by Rotoballer as the top first base prospect for dynasty baseball.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers first baseman Spencer Torkelson went 5-for-9 throughout Thursday's doubleheader in two lopsided wins. The 25-year-old doubled twice, singled thrice, scored two runs, and drove in four, with the Tigers outscoring Colorado 21-3 across the twin bill. Torkelson has cooled off a bit from his power binge a few weeks ago and slumped slightly to end April. However, he's turned it on since the calendar flipped to May with at least one run scored in seven straight appearances. It's been an excellent start to 2025 for him, and his batted ball metrics look much closer to his 31-homer 2023 campaign than the lackluster 2024. Torkelson has tied the home run total he bolstered a season ago (ten) in 204 fewer at-bats.--Alex Ciulla

Detroit Tigers first baseman/designated hitter Spencer Torkelson will get his first day off of the season in Wednesday's series finale against the hosting Houston Astros. Colt Keith will shift to first base and bat fifth, while outfielder Kerry Carpenter handles the DH duties and hits leadoff against Astros right-hander A.J. Blubaugh. Torkelson will get his first day of rest in 2025 after going 4-for-31 in his last nine games. However, the former first overall pick in 2020 out of Arizona State has provided fantasy managers with plenty of production through the first month of the season, hitting .243 (26-for-107) with eight home runs, 24 RBI, 20 runs scored and a stolen base in 30 games played. He should be back for Thursday's series opener against the Los Angeles Angels. Nobody in Detroit's starting nine on Wednesday has faced Blubaugh.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers DH Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a double, a run, three RBI, and a walk in a 6-1 win over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Torkelson plated the first runs of the game with a two-run double in the bottom of the third inning and later came back to add an RBI single in the eighth inning. Torkelson is off to a good start in 2025, hitting .286 with six homers, six doubles, 15 runs, 16 RBI, and a stolen base across 70 at-bats. He remains a solid corner infielder in all fantasy leagues.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers first baseman Spencer Torkelson has been a nice surprise for this offense early in the season. Torkelson continued his success at the plate during Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins. The 25-year-old smacked a two-run home run off Kody Funderburk in the sixth inning to help extend the lead. Torkelson would finish his day 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI, and two runs scored in the victory. He's slashing .314/.419/.647 with four home runs and 10 RBI this season. He's red-hot right now so fantasy managers should take advantage of it while they can.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
