Luis Severino Has Impressive First Rehab Start
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (elbow) pitched well in his first rehab start for the team's Low-A affiliate. Severino threw 34 pitches, allowing one run on two hits with one walk over 2 2/3 innings pitched. He struck out three batters, showing velocity and spin rates similar to those in his 2018 season when he was the Yankees' ace. Severino will likely return before he's fully stretched out, per manager Aaron Boone- which means he could be back with the Yankees by late June. Severino averaged 16 wins and a 3.18 ERA over 192 innings with 225 strikeouts from 2017-18.
