Kenta Maeda To Join Triple-A St. Paul For Rehab Assignment
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda (groin, arm) will join Triple-A St. Paul to begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday, according to Dustin Morse of the Minnesota Twins. Maeda has been dealing with a groin injury and some arm soreness that have been plaguing him for the past several weeks and finally landing him on the injured list on May 23. Those issues are likely what has caused him to have a down year so far, as he is 2-2 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.477 WHIP over 42 2/3 innings of work. Managers might not want to put him back in the lineup as soon as he's activated, but if he pitches well upon activation then managers should waste no time afterwards plugging him back into the lineup.
