Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (6/5/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 6/5/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! Welcome to another week of Stage 4 COD DFS! What looked to be a great start to the slate, turned upside down when Paris pulled off the big upset over LA Thieves and killing my lineups in the process! Atlanta and Dallas swept their opponents. The Subliners and Florida game were one for the ages though as it was close down to every second of each map with NYSL pulling the comeback and winning in Game 5 SnD!

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! Saturday's set of games are looking pretty good as well, as Toronto Ultra takes on London Royal Ravens, Optic looks to rebound after being swept by FaZe and get Paris Legion. Lastly the closest game of the day with Minnesota Rokkr taking on Seattle Surge!

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Saturday, June 5th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Florida Mutineers Home Series

Best of 5

  • Toronto Ultra (-500) vs. London Royal Ravens (+320)
  • Optic Chicago (-385) vs. Paris Legion (+265)
  • Minnesota Rokkr (-165) vs. Seattle Surge (+125)

Slate Overview

This might be too straightforward of a slate, and that worries me slightly. Toronto should win here and I love them other than their extremely high pricing. CleanX and Cammy have been an elite duo recently and the increased production of Bance has been fantastic. Unfortunately, I have to fade Insight here though, as he is just too expensive for how he has been placing. This should be a 3-0 win as Toronto has been much better in every single game mode this season and London has been pretty much the exact opposite and currently sit at 10th place in the league.

Optic is in the same place as Toronto as they have a great matchup and should come out of this one with a big win after such a disappointing loss against FaZe where they were swept. If they want to stay in the top bracket of Major 4, they are going to need a win here and make sure it's a sweep to add to it more. Envoy has been one of the best players in games like this where Optic plays a bottom half team. Paris is gonna be riding some momentum but get a much more difficult task in Optic this time around instead of LA Thieves.

This game might be one of those that are very difficult to interpret. Minnesota is the obvious pick, but I do really think Seattle keeps this close as Seattle has been a decent hardpoint team and Minnesota has struggled in Hardpoint most of their game modes. Seattle on Control has been the worst team so far this season. So that's a win for them. The SnD is a tossup though as Seattle has shown improvement there but I do have to give Minnesota the edge there. Therefore I think Minnesota wins this either 3-1 or 3-2.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Cammy: Cammy has shown that he is MVP material this season as he has helped lead his team to multiple victories with the help of CleanX and Insight. Cammy during Stage 3 and 4 has averaged 1.00 in Hardpoint, 1.05 in SnD, and 1.06 in Control. The matchup is great and this is a spot that the entire Toronto team can excel and score extremely well. Cammy has scored 107 DKP or better in 7 of his last 8 matches and just struggled against a Florida team that is surging right now. I love this spot for Cammy but it can make it hard to fit other players in with the lack of value on the slate. So a flex spot for Cammy could be a great spot for him as well.

Envoy: Envoy is in an elite spot against one of the bottom teams in the league. Against teams in the bottom half, he has had DK points of 135, 122, 122, 131, 122, and 114. He is one of the top plays and my favorite high-priced players on the slate. Optic has been better in every single game mode and therefore should end up in a sweep which is an extra 67.5 points in the captain spot. On top of all his kills and hill time. He is leading the league in hill time at 80.4 seconds per 10 minutes in Hardpoint. Which is an extra perk to adding him in the captain spot as it's with 1.5x more there. This year Envoy has averaged a 1.05 K/D in hardpoint and SnD, and a 1.00 in Control. He is also leading the team in the number of engagements per game and that means he's encountering more players, therefore, leading to more kills.

Other captain plays: Cleanx, Dashy, Standy, Attach, Octane(GPP)

COD DFS Value Plays

Bance: Bance is our best option at a cheap captain option. Toronto has the best chance to sweep therefore making Bance a good option to grab for decently cheap with his recent performance and the ability to get 100+ DKP at 8k. In the last 5 sweeps, Bance has had: 116, 118, 97, 145, and 105. As long as Toronto doesn't choke a map away, we should be looking pretty good with Bance or even CleanX in the captain spot. If Toronto can sweep Dallas and make it look easy, I think it should make for an easy win over London who is worse than Dallas right now. Bance so far in Stage 4, has had a 1.22 K/D in Hardpoint, a .73 in SnD, and a 1.00 in Control.

MajorManiak/Priestahh: The lack of value on this slate is actually mind-blowing, It is ridiculous that I can't find much more than Minnesota players and Prestinni at the bottom of the barrel. This game should be a very close one and therefore I think it's viable to take players from both sides of this game. Specifically wanted to focus on the Minnesota players, as most know how I feel about Prestinni in these types of games. MajorManiak has been one player I haven't liked rostering as he is very inconsistent but looked much better in their 3-1 win over Paris, where he had 112 DKP, and with this game more than likely being in favor of Minnesota and probably close, that makes me think Major could be in for a high scoring day once again and is only 7.6k. Priestahh I was on a good amount in Stage 3 and has really fallen off in recent games but I think he is cheap enough to take a risk here and grab him at 7k. The lean is definitely MajorManiak though. Who in stage 4 so far is averaging a 1.12 in Hardpoint, a .57 in SnD(YIKES), but makes up for it with a 1.23 K/D in Control.

Other value plays: Scump, FormaL, Attach, Prestinni

COD DFS Stacks

Toronto Ultra: Toronto took a rough loss against a very good Florida team, and then rebounded and smacked the hell out of Dallas and sent them packing. Toronto looked much better and now get an even better matchup against London. London is coming off a 2-3 loss against Dallas and was swept by Florida. This puts Toronto in a great spot and makes for my favorite spot on this slate. Cleanx and Cammy are my favorite plays from Toronto and I don't mind Bance either. Insight I don't love the price with the production, he is just too high in this case and isn't quite hitting the big numbers he once was. This should be a free square for Toronto but I wouldn't be surprised if London stole a map just to spite me. So far in Stage 4, Bance has had a 1.22 K/D in Hardpoint, a .73 in SnD, and a 1.00 in Control.

Optic Chicago: Optic is one of those teams that is terrible against the top teams and then absolutely smacks the bottom teams. Explains why they beat Minnesota the way they did and then get destroyed by Atlanta. This time they get Paris who was able to just knock off LA Thieves in a 3-1 win. Optic is a much better team than LA Thieves I believe and they should be able to take care of Paris. Envoy and Dashy are some of the best in the league and against these bottom-tier teams, they are getting very high scores. Against Minnesota Envoy had 135, Against LAG he had 122, Against Seattle 122, Against London 131. Optic has been great against some of the worst teams in the league and I think that continues here, Optic has been the better team in all three game modes. Dashy and Envoy the first I would look to, Formal has been a bit off but I like him more than Scump and is only 400$ more than him.

Other Team Plays: Minnesota Rokkr, Seattle Surge(GPP)

Summary

  1. TLDR: Toronto Ultra 3-0, Optic Chicago 3-0, Minnesota Rokkr 3-2
  2. Toronto: Cammy, Cleanx, Bance
  3. London: PaulEhx
  4. Optic: Envoy, Dashy, Formal
  5. Paris: Skrapz
  6. Minnesota: Standy, Attach
  7. Seattle: Octane, (Note: Loony and Decemate are not playing for the Surge, I talked with DK support, and they said they are going to try and add Gunless and Prestinni)
