Randy Arozarena Continues To Struggle At The Plate
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena continued his struggles at the plate on Thursday, finishing 1-for-4 with one steal, a run scored and two strikeouts in a 9-2 win over the Yankees. It's been a rough go for Arozarena over his last seven games, as he is slashing .143/.194./.143 with three steals, two RBI and four runs scored over that span. His numbers on the year aren't necessarily terrible, but managers were definitely expecting better than the .254/.343/.397 triple-slash line he currently sports, although he has managed to record seven home runs and nine steals. His Statcast metrics don't offer a lot of hope for a sudden uptick in performance, but his value is low enough right now that managers won't be able to get good value in a trade. Hang tight with Arozarena for now, and as soon as he strings together a hot streak, try to trade him away before his bat goes cold again.
