Dinelson Lamet Makes Longest Start To-Date
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Dinelson Lamet fanned six batters in four frames Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander threw 47 of 72 pitches for strikes, surrendering one earned run on four hits and a walk. It's uncertain if Lamet had more juice in the tank, but he was lifted for a pinch-hitter after two Padres exited the game due to injuries the prior inning. The good news is the 28-year-old appears past his prior elbow issues, but he still hasn't surpassed four innings in any outing. Overall, Lamet holds a 2.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 27 percent strikeout rate over 18 innings (seven appearances, five starts). At some point, Lamet will need to assume a larger workload, so fantasy managers should hold tight for the upside.
