Jeff Hoffman Dealing With A Right Shoulder Impingement
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Jeff Hoffman (shoulder) is dealing with a right shoulder impingement. The veteran right-hander was removed during the second inning of his Wednesday start against the Washington Nationals and was placed on the injured list by the Reds on Thursday. According to Bobby Nightengale Jr., Hoffman will not need surgery. The team has yet to officially announce their plans for Hoffman's vacated spot in the rotation. Lefty Wade Miley is also on the injured list, with rookie right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez slated to make his MLB debut in place of the former on Friday. Miley could be ready to return soon thereafter. If Gutierrez shows well, he could stick around and slide into Hoffman's spot in the rotation.
