Tyler Rogers Earns Shaky Save Wednesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers held on to earn the save in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Rogers entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by a run. He allowed two singles, got an out, but then allowed another single to load the bases. He was then able to get a strikeout and a groundout to end the game. It wasn't the prettiest performance for Rogers, but he has been by far the team's best reliever and is starting to see save opportunities because of it. The sidearmer now has a pristine 0.68 ERA with 10 holds and has converted six of eight save opportunities. It appears as though Rogers has become the team's primary option for the ninth inning over Jake McGee for the time being, which gives him a good deal of fantasy value.
