Jeff Hoffman Exits Start With Shoulder Soreness
3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman (shoulder) exited Wednesday's start with right shoulder soreness, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Hoffman called for a trainer in the second inning after allowing back-to-back walks to Trea Turner and Juan Soto on nine pitches, and he was then replaced by reliever Brad Brach. He finished the night allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over 1 1/3 innings, as he now owns a 4.61 ERA for the season. Hoffman wasn't providing a ton of value outside of deep-mixed and NL-only formats, and now we'll wait to see how long he may miss and who would take over his spot in the rotation.
