Alex Kirilloff Posts Second Straight Multi-Hit Effort
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/first baseman Alex Kirilloff went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. Kirilloff hit his first two-bagger in the fourth inning, then drove in Josh Donaldson on his second double in the sixth inning. The talented prospect continues to scald the ball as he registered yet another batted ball with an exit velocity of at least 100-MPH. In addition to his strong hitting at the dish, Kirilloff made a nice catch in right field, which won't help fantasy managers, though it will ensure that his bat stays in the lineup if he's making strong plays with his glove. His bat has produced two straight multi-hit games, and he's batting .333 with four runs scored and four RBIs since returning from the injured list. He'll face Orioles' righty Jorge Lopez on Wednesday. Lopez ranks in the 36th-percentile in expected slugging percentage, so Kirilloff has a good chance of driving one or two balls against him.
